Sinks

There are a lot of factors to consider when selecting a sink. The shape, size and style matter, as well as the material and finally the installation method. At G&M Design we can help you choose the right sink for your kitchen.

Sink Style
With so many sink styles to choose from it can be hard to know where to start. There is the classic single bowl sink that creates a large, open space. A single kitchen sink makes easy work of cleaning oversize pots and platters. Typically a single sink is smaller in overall size, so if space is tight in your kitchen a single sink may be your best option.

Double bowl sinks provide two sinks in one. Two separate basins make multitasking easy. Various configurations include two sinks of the same size, or one smaller than the other to best fit your space and the way you will use the sinks. Prep sinks and even triple sink configurations provide more flexibility and function to your space.

Farmhouse Sinks
Farmhouse sinks, also known as apron sinks, are a traditional style that is very popular. This style features a large front panel that extends over the cabinets. Commonly, farmhouse sinks are a single basin, but different configurations are available. Styles range from vintage to modern.

Sink Materials
Stainless-steel is the most popular of sink materials and with good reason. From stain resistance to durability to the ability to easily be configured into different shapes and styles stainless-steel makes great sinks. From a price perspective stainless-steel sinks cover a wide range of price points.

Installation Options
Top mount sinks drop into place with the edge, or rim, exposed and on top of the counters. This style is easy to install. Undermount sinks are installed under the counter, so the edge of the counter is visible around the sink opening. The look is modern and sleek. TopZero, or zero edge sink installation is level with the top of the countertop. This style offers all of the benefits of an undermount sink, but it also covers the edge of the countertop.
