Selecting the right countertop is an important part of a kitchen remodel. Each stone slab has unique coloring and veining that can vary greatly from one slab to another. We encourage you to visit our stone gallery to review the options available.
Granite
Granite is a popular option for kitchen countertops and for good reason. This natural stone is beautiful and durable. As with all natural stone it is necessary to seal the countertops to protect the surface from stains and etching, but overall granite holds up very well in a busy kitchen. Granite has a mottled appearance and is available in white, black, brown, beige, blue and red. Veining is a distinguishing characteristic of granite. Veining are meandering lines that traverse natural stone in organic patterns, giving the stone an elegant look.
Marble
Another solid surface, natural stone option is marble. Marble is available in a variety of colors, although white and gray are the most popular. Veining is a common characteristic and is unique to each slab. Marble is prone to staining and etching, so as with all natural stone it is important to have the surface professionally sealed and to routinely reseal the surface.
Limestone
Limestone is a natural stone that typically comes in a neutral color palette and features a warm honed finish. It has an old world look that lends a sophisticated look to a kitchen. Limestone is porous and in order to maintain the look and beauty of this stone surface it is important to regularly seal the counters to protect them from staining.
Quartz
Quartz is a natural stone that is available in slabs. We also carry engineered or man made quartz, which is made from ground quartz and polymer resins. The polymer lends durability to the stone. Color is much more consistent when working with engineered quartz, because the colors can be adjusted during the manufacturing process.
